what does this lover button do on my laptop?

i of late bought a advent 7113 laptop with vista on it and in that is a button next to the standy button near a picture of a fan on it.



when i press it i cant see what it does apart from a table lamp that comes

and ideas is it to cool the cpu and do i own to press it and if so when?



there is no info within the manual that explains what this button is for

are you sure it looks close to a fan and not similar to an antenna with radio top going out? cause if it looks resembling that, then it might be the button to get going your WI-FI receptor. i believe the advent 7113 does have WI-FI built contained by

cools your laptop down if it over heat
It is to cool you processor and/or internal components. I will keep it other on when on the power supply and will turn in on when you touch the base heat up when on battery. This is to conserve power.
