what is a c:\>HIMEM.SYS?

i be going to turn on my laptop when it said HIMEM.SYS is missing what do i do?it also told me make sure that the directory is in your Windows directory.

The DOS and Microsoft Windows device that manage the use of extended memory and the high memory nouns on IBM-compatible computers. HIMEM.SYS not only allows your application programs to access extended memory, it also oversees that nouns to prevent other programs from trying to use the same space at like peas in a pod time. HIMEM.SYS must be loaded by a DEVICE command in your CONFIG.SYS report; do not use DEVICEHIGH.
