what is a generic usb? How do I bring up to date if it's 2.0?

Answer:

If your referring to a usb type of adaptor. research the adaptors home page or it should voice on the content out side the box. Basically your looking for this term:

"2.0 Supported" or "Ver. 2.0"

If you asking going on for the computers usb hardware installed.

Goto your device manager, underneath the "usb heading tab" you should see what ver. you have.
It should say-so. A Generic USB usually is not a Brand name. However, some so call generic USB slots and hubs are capable of both 1 and 2. However, its better to own a USB that operates at 2 since it will support 2 speed, but not vice versa
Generic medium for most types.
