i hold 512 Mb RAM and i'm planning to change to 1 G. usually what happen to my computer, does something will receive lost or will get modified? thank
Answer:
No, RAM (Random Access Memory) is the memory specifically used to store temporary facts only. If you upgrade to 1gb the simply thing that will appear is your system will run alot smoother and in some cases faster. You will not loose any notes.
--Edit upon seeing other answers--
The type of RAM you get doesnt put together a difference on whether your going to loose data or not. Adding RAM will NOT translation any internal configurations.
As long as you buy the correct ram for your laptop, nil should happen except slightly superior performance. Your OS should automatically detect the alien ram, and use it appropriately.
nothing will be lost, but your computer will increase its processing speed. its biddable for you to have such a substantial amount of RAM.
What is your current RAM (DDR400? DDR333?). That needs to be agreed first.
You'd better talk to someone who know this stuff well. I simply say that because you be asking if things will get lost (indicates that you may not know much going on for RAM -- not meant as an insult).
